The carabiner provides smooth, nearly frictionless sliding movement of the bar hook on each side of the lifting bar. Using the moving hook, it overcomes the harness's tendency to rotate around the kiter's body. Riders can easily shift their body weight further away from the kite and have the freedom to move in their riding direction.
